The Bridge Plan is extendable with the following rules:
- Minimum initial purchase duration: 1 Month
- Maximum extended duration: 364 Days
- Extension fee: $0
Coverage can be purchased for 364 days at a time; automatic monthly installments extend coverage until the maximum duration is reached.
Coverage can be repurchased for a maximum of 5 years while waiting to enroll into Medicare; coverage is subject to eligibility and insurability.
Duration depends upon state restrictions.
NOTE: This is an extension of the policy and NOT a new policy. That means that if something happens in the previous policy period, it will not be considered a pre-existing condition. While if you take a new policy, it will be considered a pre-existing condition. Thus, the ability to extend is a big advantage.
All extension fees, if any, are charged by the insurance company. There are no additional fees (or any other fees) charged by your agent.
